I've Lost my Funk!

I believe that...with a lot of hard work, sweat and humidity, I may have lost my funk - and yep, that's a good thing!  After a week of laying around IN a funk, I decided I needed to get my butt in gear and get OUT of it.

(First things first, look to the right....I did my homework and figured out how to add an email subscribe box.  Now you never have to miss our crazy happenings!)

I brought out the big guns.  A four o'clock run at 95 degrees made me  want to stick my head in the freezer, but Annie helped get me out the door by offering to run with me.  It was aweSOME!

We spent the weekend relaxing, more running, a LOT more running, I even got a long run in on the trail with Kevin while he worked on his drill.  He started Band Camp on Monday.

Love this guy!

Annie had a few friends over for pizza, water balloons and tie-dye, she really has the best friends in the world, I love every girl that comes over here!  They are polite, friendly, and there are sooooo many of them.  I guess all those years of me growling "don't just play with just that one friend on the playground" paid off.

Of course the little guys smelled water balloons from a mile away and set their stash up front.  I dare say they won as they ended up manning the hoses from the safety of the deck.

Kristian spent his entire week doing his in-car drivers ed.  He's officially finished and we pick up his certificate today, a few days before his actual drivers test.  WOW, he's going to be DRIVING FOR REAL!  WOW!

Mom and dad stopped by on their way to West Virginia to bring us their "old" generator.  another big WOW!  I can't tell if Kevin's more excited about the generator or the new solar panel attached to the house that will help power it.  Unfortunately I took zero pictures of their visit.

Annie is in Cheer Camp this week, here's a pic the coach sent.  I wish I could have looked like her in 8th grade!

Lastly, my favorite new thing!  I've managed to add 56 miles so far in this humidity leaving only 45 for the rest of July.  I've had to resort to running twice a day to get the miles in but the good news, it's impossible to gain weight running in this heat, nausea is never far behind!  But I found some help for motivation.  It's a free app called Running Club and you join groups of runners from all over the US on their run.  I was invited immediately to run the Siesta Beach Run in Florida last night at 7pm.  Three miles with several other runners.  Only the invitee actually "showed up" to run, so we ran.  AND, I BEAT HIM!!  In my head, I was racing Ryan Hall, reality was that he most likely was a dad my age, but my competitive nature took over and even though it was my second run of the day, I pulled it off.

Yes I'm bragging, don't care.  Looooove this app!

After a shower and Tylenol, Teddy challenged me to a (many) games of Mastermind and we called it a night.

Push me out the DOOR!

I believe....that all my dreams are too big sometimes and it's why I feel so often overwhelmed!!  A few  dreams from the top of my list:

*My house will always be clean and organized.  (yes, even I'm laughing)
*To create a second income to help pay for college and pay off our cars/mortgage early.
*To someday move to another state.
So many to choose from, this is where we've been.

*To have my sportbras match my running clothes!
*To reach 1,000 miles for 2012.  (currently 475/1000)

I keep a list on my phone of goals/dreams because the first step to reaching them is to write them down and it really works!  I accomplished several big ones this year, including running two back to back marathons, by focusing on just that goal.

However, as I look over that list, there's one needing immediate attention and it's the 1,000 goal/dream.  Why you ask?  There's no fancy metal for accomplishing it, though I'm leaving that option open to anyone that would like to produce one!!  (sounds like an awesome Christmas present if you really want to know) So far, it's proved my most difficult goal.  In January it seemed mathematically simple, but now in July not so much.
Martha Staten, teacher, ran every day for a year AND drank a different beer afterwards!

I am now behind on the miles and need a push. With school starting in under six weeks, I have to kick it into gear and for some reason I can't get out the door today.

As I finish up putting away the trip, I invite you all to give me a push.
We all toasted with a touch of Camaraderie Ale to celebrate the end of our summer adventure.

So send me a text.  A motivational "pin".  Kick me out that door...

CODA -
I remembered that I had a Super Sparkly Silver Headband with Superpowers that helped me log another 4.5 miles!

Not only did I log another 4.5 miles, my usually stinky mid run pond was filled with pink Water Lillies!!

Last chance to back out :)

Always wanted to see my name in lights.

Teddy got a second wind coming down from the Arch.
He walked like a chicken for at least 30 min.

Caught in action, shoving his sister off a rock.
